Bassist JOEY VERA Offers Updates On FATES WARNING, ANTHRAX
February 8, 2005Bassist extraordinaire Joey Vera (FATES WARNING, ANTHRAX) has posted the following message on his web site:
"Last weekend FATES WARNING shot a video for the tune 'Simple Human' from our new CD titled 'FWX'. It's basically a live performance video with some 'acting' talents courtesy of our lead singer Ray Alder. 'Less is more' — CUT!! Watch and learn. I haven't seen the edit yet but hopefully they'll cut out my heavy panting. It's been a while since I've shot a video and man was I sore the next day! Time off during the holidays is brutal.
"Also, before that in early January I mixed a demo here at The Bridge for a band out of France called MALADAPTIVE. It came out quite good. They are looking for a deal which I don't see being a problem. Check them out at www.maladaptive.com
"On February 12, I take off for a tour in parts of Europe with FATES WARNING. We’re playing in Budapest, Hungary; Sophia, Bulgaria; Istanbul, Turkey and two shows in Greece. A short run but I'm looking forward to it. Nick D'Virgilio (SPOCK'S BEARD) will be joining us on the drums.
"The very day after the last show in Athens, Greece (Feb. 21) I fly out to Chicago to join up with the ANTHRAX boys for a rehearsal. We will be playing the Dimebag Foundation benefit concert in Chicago, IL with DISTURBED, DROWNING POOL and SOIL at the Aragon Ballroom on Wed. Feb. 23. All proceeds are going to the victims of that tragic night. (It sold out in 20 minutes by the way.)
"The day after we play we leave for a tour of South America. We’ll be playing in Brazil, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica and Mexico. This tour should be killer and I’m stoked on playing these places with the band. Check the THRAX site for more details www.anthrax.com
"Other than that, I might have the mighty MOTHER SUPERIOR doing some mixing for their new record here at my studio this week. If you haven’t heard of them you should listen up. They are one of the best bands I've seen in a long time. And some of the coolest people I've met, to boot. They were the band that recorded and toured with Henry Rollins for several records including 2000's 'Get Some, Go Again'. They also wrote and recorded a new record with Pearl Aday (MOTHER PEARL is the name of her band www.mother-pearl.com) who also happens to be Scott Ian's fiancé. But MOTHER SUPERIOR also rules on their own. Check them out at www.mother-superior.com.
"Got some things brewing for the remainder of March and April so more is coming..."
